Salvador Dali was a brilliant artist. Do you think he was trying to tell us something? Is there a Dali Code?

With all the hoopla over The Da Vinci Code maybe other artists were trying to tell us something as well. Who better than Salvador Dali. Just look at his work, he was doing ultra complex collages on canvas decades before PhotoShop was invented.

Dali was a much more complex person than Da Vinci. Have you heard of the Hallucinogenic Toreador? Now that’s a twisted piece of work. What’s going on there? I’m sure there’s a Dali Code that’s way more involved than the Da Vinci Code. What do you think?

Dali was indeed a brilliant artist. He would be first to admit that his skills were far inferior to DaVinci’s. He rated many artists, past and present. I took several courses in Art History in colleges and studied much on my own, and I agree mostly with his ratings. Jan Vermeer van Delft was the best painter, and Diego Velasquez was not far behind. They were from the Baroque. Just behind them are the High Renaissance masters: Raphael Urbino, Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo Buonnarotti. Dali says painting fell far after the Baroque and that he is just the best of a bad lot now. His total score is less than half Da Vinci’s. There is no code in Dali, Da Vinci or Poussin. A TV show says a fraud from France invented a secret society in the 1950’s and made a false list of past members that includes Da Vinci. There is no real evidence for any of the wild stuff in “The Da Vinci Code”. “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”, after all.
