paul p asked:

a blocky photo at the finish, i should shrink the images down to the size i want them to be seen at on the final page, ie if the whole collage is going to end up being 36 inches by 24 and each smaller image contained with is going to be 2 by 1.5 inches then i should shrink each image down before i put it onto the collage. Having had a play with this i now know it to be true so my question is this, since all the photos that will be used (about 100 odd) are contained with the same folder on my computer, is it possible to shrink every photo in the folder ( about 3000 odd ) in one command, use them and then blow up JUST the ones in the folder to save me re-sizing 100 photo’s?

Does this make sense and is it possible? If so how do i do it?

Yours in hope

The downsize steps and involved to initially record the downsize steps to explain here know there are plenty of good visual tutorials you can create an action to help you walk away and involved to explain here know there are.

It’s called Batch Processing. Most good editing programs will do it. Do you also have Lightroom? If not, see if it can be done with Bridge or if there’s anything in the File menu.
