I’m a digital art major; What can i do for a career?

Here’s the deal. I’m a digital art major in my final year of college and i’m a little concerned as to what i’ll do with this degree. I feel very comfortable with Photoshop. But everything else I honestly feel like I just touch the waters (flash, illustrator, imageready, final cut, soundtrack, live type) Honestly I just started learning flash & illustrator. For the most part I enjoy making short videos collages, and abstract art with Photoshop. Will this help with any career? Is it good to be familiar with a bunch of programs vs mastering only one? Please any advice, greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you could be heading into motion graphics (commercials, etc.) or web design.

It might help to find an internship. You’ll get a taste of what’s like working on particular projects. Sometimes, it will help get your foot in the door. If you end up not liking the job, you can try something else. I think it is better to test waters by having different internships than jumping from one permanent job to another in a short amount of time.

If you meet/interact with people in the field, sometimes they can give advice and critique your work… It would be good to know your strengths and weaknesses in each of the programs and in your sense of design.
