Are these good presents to give to my family and friend?

Mom and I are getting Dad this beautiful watch, and some ties. :P I’m playing a Lord of the Rings tune for him.

My friend recently moved, so I’m planning to videotape all her old friends and they can give a little message. I’m playing Breaking Free for her, since she’s a huge High School Musical fan. I don’t know if it’s appropriate, but I wanted to get her a “moving away” gift in September. I didn’t have a chance to give it to her, so I was thinking of doing it now, but would that be somehow offensive?
