A Question for all Graphic Designers: I’m still in high school and I am a senior and I was wondering?

Roga asked:

1.first of all what scholarships should I apply for?

2.I’m going to go to my community collage and get all my basics done so what type of acociate’s degree should I have? I’ve done research on this field for a senior english project and I know:
“….Entry level positions require an Associate’s Degree; the length being two years for those in a rush to get hired immediately ( Mahalo.com Incorporated 4). You can work your way through school while working as a designer ( Mahalo.com Incorporated 4, 5). If not, then focus on acquiring a graphic design allied degree ( Mahalo.com Incorporated 5). Programs like these tailor to your specific area and can last to three or four years ( Mahalo.com Incorporated 5). These areas include: visual communication, multimedia, animation, web development, advertising, graphic design, computer technology, graphic intensive courses, finance courses and a general business course ( Mahalo.com Incorporated 5). The graphic design course will hone in on the particulars of graphic design, yet you will not need a major to be hired in the field ( Mahalo.com Incorporated 5)….” [work cited from my project source: http://www.positivespaceblog.com/archives/how-to-gain-design-experience-without-being-taken-advantage-of/].

Basically most of the stuff on that page is good to know. However what I am really asking is what classes should I take, what should I major in and is Information Technology a good minor when it comes to pairing it with this field of work?

All I am really good at is drawing, photoshop and art and maybe a little photography…a little. Mostly art and I want to go into an art or design career. Such as graphic design, I have taken a class for it in High School and yes I can do that for a living, I just need more input.

I’m just getting through school now, I don’t have any scholarships yet because I don’t really know what exactly to apply for. I’m just a tad lost….

So any ideas?
